Sil Lai Abrams is one of 20 women who've accused Russell Simmons of sexual misconduct. She explains the harsh realities Black survivors face when they speak out.

'I knew people would suggest I wasn't the perfect victim,' she said.

Abrams says she had to fight hard for her story to be heard.

She came forward publicly with allegations in 2018 that she had been raped in 1994 by music mogul Russell Simmons. Abrams is one of multiple survivors interviewed in 'On the Record,' a documentary about Simmons' alleged abuses.

'I am a mother. I am a writer. I am an activist. I'm a survivor. I'm a radical Black feminist. I will not be silenced.'
