Alarm over ISIL resurgence in Syria

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is to meet other foreign ministers representing the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS (ISIL). Their goal is to review efforts to ensure what the United States calls "the enduring defeat" of the group.
This comes as the United Nations has warned that ISIL is trying to regroup in Syria. In an interview with Al Jazeera, the UN’s Special Envoy for Syria, Geir Pedersen, cited worrying signs of a resurgence in the desert.
