Anti-Putin protests erupts across Russia on president's 65th birthday

Police in Russia have detained more than 200 activists across the country for participating in opposition rallies.

In St Petersburg, at least 60 people were detained when police moved in to break up the demonstration.

It was one of at least 27 rallies held to coincide with President Vladimir Putin's 65th birthday.

Al Jazeera's Rory Challands reports from Moscow.
