At least 20 women and children dead after overcrowded wedding boat capsizes in Pakistan

At least 20 people were killed and 30 others are missing after a boat carrying around 120 passengers including members of a wedding party capsized in the rapidly moving waters of the Indus River in Pakistan. The accident happened on July 19, 2022, between the villages of Machka and Kharor in Sadiqabad, an area along the border of Sindh and Punjab provinces. Rescuers recovered at least 20 bodies, mostly of women and children according to local government official Aslam Tasleem.
