Families and friends are remembering the lives of eight victims in the Atlanta, Georgia, shooting.

This week, hundreds of thousands of dollars have been raised to support the victims’ families, including that of Hyun Jung Grant, a single mother of two boys. Lawmakers pressured President Joe Biden to elevate the voices of Asian Americans in the federal government. The shootings pushed forth a conversation of racism and misogyny against Asian American women. The group Stop AAPI Hate has tracked more than 3,800 hate crimes against Asian Americans since the start of the global coronavirus pandemic in 2020. And, thousands of runners and walkers in New York City came out in solidarity with the Asian American community with a 5k run.
