United States President Joe Biden is insisting his troops will not be in Kabul past his August 31 deadline for completing evacuations of Americans and endangered Afghans.
But with just a week to go, some European leaders have been calling on evacuations to be given more time.

Earlier, G7 leaders discussed the situation in Afghanistan at a virtual summit.
