California leads US states' anti-pollution fight after Trump snubs Paris Climate Accord

US President Donald Trump's administration may have withdrawn its commitment to the Paris Climate Accord, but several American cities and states are stepping around the federal government to pursue their own climate agenda.

California, with the population of 39 million people and the world's sixth-largest economy, is among the states combating the world's pollution crisis.
