California wildfires continue to rage into second week

A large wildfire in the US state of California continues to threaten coastal towns as it burns into its second week with no signs of slowing down.

The so-called Thomas Fire northwest of Los Angeles has already torched nearly 1,000 buildings and charred an area larger than New York City.

At least one person has died.

Al Jazeera's Rob Reynolds is in Santa Barbara, one of the worst hit areas.
