China and Philippines enter ‘golden age’ of bilateral relations after Marcos Jnr meeting

China and the Philippines have agreed to enter a “golden age” of bilateral relations, after Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held talks with Philippine President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jnr on July 6, 2022. The meeting took place in the Philippine capital Manila as part of Wang’s Southeast Asian tour, which ends in Indonesia. There he will meet with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken at a G20 meeting.
