Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has been meeting with counterparts from around Southeast Asia. He visited Myanmar on July 4, 2022, for the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation, meeting with diplomats from Cambodia, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam. Wang is the most senior Chinese official to visit Myanmar since the February 2021 military coup. Wang later stopped off in Thailand for talks with the country's prime minister Prayuth Chan-ocha before travelling to Bali, Indonesia, where he is expected to hold face-to-face talks with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken during a G20 session on July 7-8.
