China’s political elite wrapped up their annual parliamentary session on March 11, 2021, one that has taken on extra political weight as the Communist Party gears up to celebrate its centenary in July.

At a press conference marking the end of this year’s “two sessions”, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang summarised key issues relating to the nation’s economic, political and social issues, including the sweeping changes to Hong Kong electoral system and the increasingly intense political rivalry between China and the US.
