Civilian deaths surge in Mosul as ISIL tactics slow army advance
At least 100 civilians have died trying to flee ISIL-controlled areas of Mosul in the past six days.
ISIL, or the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant group, is defending its positions in the old city with snipers, slowing the Iraqi army's advance.
Al Jazeera's Osama Bin Javaid reports from Erbil, just east of Mosul.
