Donald Trump acquitted on charge of inciting US Capitol riot

Not guilty. That is the verdict from the US Senate in Donald Trump's second impeachment trial.
Although Saturday had some surprises, the result was expected.
But even though he was acquitted, the bipartisan support to convict the former president was unprecedented. Seven Republicans voted in favour of impeachment.
The article of impeachment stemmed from the deadly Capitol Hill riot on January 6. Trump has stood accused of inciting the assault.
