'Foreigners fighting' with ISIL-linked Philippine group

Thousands of people have abandoned their homes in the southern Mindanao region of the Philippines amid fighting between an ISIL-linked group and security forces.

At least 44 people have died in the clashes so far.

Reports say foreign fighters have joined the group involved in the clashes, and that they have started to receive funding from abroad.

President Rodrigo Duterte has imposed martial law on the island
