Gun control in the US: 'Nothing has changed ... we are moving backwards'

As grieving parents in the Texas town of Uvalde prepare to bury the children gunned down in their classroom, calls for action on gun control are growing louder.
The US president has again spoken forcefully about the need for stronger laws. However, members of survivors’ groups are expressing their scepticism.
So often after mass shootings, demands for stronger gun legislation have resonated, only to be ignored.
