Hariri breaks silence: ‘I am free in Saudi Arabia’

Eight days after his shock resignation, Prime Minister Saad Hariri breaks his silence and speaks from Riyadh, denying that his stay there is a de facto detention.

In a televised interview, he said he is “free” in Saudi Arabia, rejecting rumours he is being held against his will.

Hariri also pledged to return to Lebanon “very soon” once security arrangements had been made.
