Home security-camera footage has gone viral on social media showing a masked man in Hong Kong using a bamboo pole, fitted with a metal hook, to steal a handbag from a 10th-floor flat, on August 22, 2021. In the footage, the burglar is seen standing on what is believed to be construction scaffolding outside the living-room window of a flat in Sham Shui Po. The thief took about 45 seconds to steal the handbag through security bars on the window, before being noticed. He managed to escape with the bag.
