Signs on Hong Kong’s minibuses are so distinct that they are considered a form of art.

But the unique Chinese calligraphy that lets passengers know where the bus is going is now being replaced with new technology.

Mak Kam Sang, the calligrapher behind the signs, tells Al Jazeera how he is trying to preserve a part of Hong Kong’s culture.
