When it comes to horse racing, Hong Kong is small but mighty. The city is home to 12 international Group 1 races – the highest level of thoroughbred racing – including the Longines Hong Kong International Races, widely known as the Turf World Championships. Many horses have achieved global fame for their galloping successes at the Happy Valley and Sha Tin racecourses, while the city’s jockeys and trainers have become internationally revered.

The last 25 years have been momentous for the Hong Kong Jockey Club, which is tasked with maintaining and promoting this proud tradition.
