Kawaii Monster Cafe, an iconic cafe and show venue that symbolises Japan’s cute “kawaii” pop culture, opened its doors for the last time on January 31, 2021. Once a hotspot for tourists and celebrities, the cafe’s operator decided to close the restaurant as business dried up amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
