Iran's Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei says the United States must lift all sanctions before Iran complies with the nuclear deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) which former President Donald Trump had torn up in 2015.
Khamenei said he said the "maximum pressure" of Trump had failed and that he was in no hurry to have sanctions reversed, in a speech to address the nation on the Persian New Year.
The administration of President Joe Biden wants to return to the nuclear deal but says Iran must be in full compliance with the accord before sanctions can be lifted.

Al Jazeera’s Assed Baig reports from Tehran, Iran.
