Israeli PM Netanyahu visits UK to mark Balfour centenary

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has travelled to the UK to mark the centenary of the Balfour declaration with his British counterpart, Theresa May.

The declaration – signed 100 years ago and endorsed by Britain – paved the way for the establishment of a Jewish “national home” in Palestine.

However, for Palestinians, the declaration would lead to the eventual loss of their land, subsequent displacement, and later occupation.

Al Jazeera's Barnaby Phillips reports.
