Latin America's COVID-19 deaths top half a million

More than half a million people have died from the coronavirus in Latin America.
The busy holiday season has led to a rise in cases in many countries. And a slow roll-out of vaccines is making the situation worse.
Securing vaccine supplies has been a big challenge for the region compared with the wealthier nations. That is why the governments in the region are enforcing lockdowns once again despite the economic impact.

Al Jazeera’s Teresa Bo reports from Buenos Aires, where health authorities warn of tighter restrictions.
