Made in China: a domestically built cruise ship fires up its high-power generators

China is one step closer to delivering its first domestically built cruise ship. The vista-class vessel’s first main generator was recently started up, according to state media reports on July 7, 2022. The 324 metre-long (1,061 feet) ship is equipped with five high-power generators that have the capacity to power 6,000 households. The ship’s construction is expected to be completed in 2023.
