Mali: UN peacekeeping mandate renewed amid fighting

The mandate of a UN peacekeeping operation in northern Mali is to be renewed in June.
Rebels and the Malian government are not complying with a peace accord signed two years ago.
That's giving an opening to al-Qaeda fighters in the region with the UN troops being their targets.
