Sexual harassment in the workplace is illegal because of this woman, Sandra Bundy. In the 1970s, Sandra Bundy was harassed at work. For 4 years, she face sexual advancements and threats. She complained about the problem but was told they couldn't do anything about it and that she could be discharged for making false accusations. So Bundy hired an attorney. They lost in district court. Bundy had smartly kept a diary of everything that happened to her at work. Bundy's case went to the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals in 1981 and sexual harassment was deemed a violation of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. After a 5-year battle, Bundy made workplace sexual harassment illegal.
