The burial, which took place on Monday in the San Francisco Javier church, was led by other Jesuit priests and attended by parishioners who placed flowers on the coffins.
The killing of Javier Campos and Joaquin Mora has led to growing criticism of the Mexican government’s strategy to curb violence nationwide.
The Catholic Church in Mexico is now calling on federal authorities to re-examine the country’s security policies.
