Coronavirus cases and deaths across India have reached a new high, as the country grapples with a devastating second wave.
More than 3,600 deaths and nearly 380,000 cases were reported on Thursday.
Despite all this, millions of people turned out to vote for regional elections in West Bengal, sparking fears the state may become the new epicentre.
