Myanmar cut internet service in the early hours of February 15, 2021, after security forces fired to disperse a demonstration in the northern city of Myitkyina. Troops have been deployed around the country prompting fears of a crackdown on anti-coup protests demanding a return of the country’s ousted de facto leader Aung San Suu Kyi.
