Khine Mar Nwe has not been home with her family for more than a month since she left them to join Myanmar’s anti-coup protests. The 26-year-old mother and leader of a garment factory union has forged ahead despite the separation and in the face of deadly violence. She says she is determined to fight alongside women who work with her to fight for the return of Aung San Suu Kyi, the nation’s elected female leader who was ousted from power by the military on February 1, 2021.
