Nepal is grappling with a rapid rise of Covid-19 infections, as it reported 4,364 new cases on April 27, 2021, the highest daily toll so far this year. Health experts fear that thousands of people in the Himalayan country may have caught more-infectious mutant strain, including one emerging from neighbouring India which is grappling with a rapidly worsening Covid-19 crisis fuelled by a new variant.
