New York Gov. Cuomo Delivers COVID-19 Update | LIVE | NowThis

HAPPENING NOW—CUOMO UPDATE: New York Governor Andrew Cuomo delivers updates on the state’s response to the coronavirus pandemic. The Associated Press reports today that more than 4,300 patients recovering from COVID-19 were sent to nursing homes in New York. The state has lost 5,800 to the virus in nursing and adult care facilities, the AP reports. The CDC has warned that ‘older adults’ seem to be ‘at higher risk for developing more serious complications from COVID-19 illness,’ and Cuomo himself has called nursing homes and long-term care facilities serving the elderly ‘the optimum feeding ground for this virus.’ The Associated Press conducted its own analysis of coronavirus patients discharged to nursing homes after New York’s health department declined to release its own internal survey.
