Up to 24 inches of snow is expected to cover New York City and other parts of the tristate area, alongside gusts of winds of up to 40 to 50 miles per hour. Last night, de Blasio declared a state of emergency restricting nonessential travel in the city. ‘This winter storm will be dangerous with heavy snowfall and strong winds,’ the mayor tweeted. ‘If you can stay home, stay home. Keep the roads clear for emergency vehicles.’
