Pentagon investigates US soldier deaths in Niger

At least five Nigerian and four US soldiers were killed in an ambush on a joint patrol in southwest Niger earlier this month.

There are about 1,000 US troops in the country, helping local forces defeat ISIL-linked fighters.

The Pentagon is still trying to figure out who is behind the deadly ambushed.

Al Jazeera’s Rosiland Jordan reports from Washington, DC.
