Philippines army claims it killed 15 communist rebels in Batangas

The Philippine military says it has killed at least fifteen communist fighters from the New People's Army.

Violence broke out after Rodrigo Duterte's government backed out of peace negotiations with the armed group.

But relatives of the dead accuse state forces of launching an ambush.

Al Jazeera's Jamela Alindogan reports from the province of Batangas, in northern Philippines.
