Pres.-elect Biden Announces Nominations and Appointments | LIVE | NowThis

MORE BIDEN ADMIN APPOINTMENTS, AS TRUMP JOINS SCOTUS SUIT: President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris are formally announcing nominees for Cabinet positions and appointments to the Biden White House, including Denis McDonough as secretary of veterans affairs, Katherine Tai as U.S. trade representative, Rep. Marcia Fudge as secretary of housing and urban development, and Tom Vilsack as secretary of agriculture.

Biden’s announcement comes as Republicans continue their full-on assault on the results of the 2020 election. This week, Trump loyalist and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed a Supreme Court lawsuit seeking to undo results in Georgia, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania—all states Trump lost—claiming that changes to election protocols to accommodate safe access to voting during the pandemic were unconstitutional. The lawsuit has been supported by 18 Republican attorneys general and 106 Republican representatives. Trump has also filed to join the lawsuit, and, though the suit alleges there is evidence of widespread fraud, claims that ‘it is not necessary … to prove that fraud occurred’ in order to overturn the election results.'
