Qatar lauded for its role in Afghanistan evacuations

Technical teams from Qatar have arrived in Afghanistan to help Kabul airport managers to get the facility up and running again.
The tiny Gulf nation was instrumental in helping the US airlift its citizens and eligible Afghans out of the capital before US troops finally withdrew on August 31.
Some nations have asked Qatar to assist in promoting a more inclusive government in Afghanistan and to relocate their Kabul embassies to Doha.
Doha has long been serving as a go-between for the west and the Taliban because it has good relations with the two sides.
