Russian President Vladimir Putin has visited soldiers who were wounded during fighting in Ukraine. The May 25, 2022, appearance was the first time Putin is known to have visited wounded troops since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on February 24. Dressed in white medical coat, Putin spoke with soldiers at Moscow’s Mandryka military hospital and hailed them as “heroes of Russia”. As of March 25, 1,351 Russian soldiers had been killed and 3,825 wounded in Ukraine, according to the latest figures released by Moscow.
