From a library bookshelf-scanning robot to one that zaps mosquitoes, many companies in Singapore have relied on automation to fill jobs amid a labour crunch in the city state. The Singapore government has been promoting robotics in the workplace, amid an ageing population and steep declines in foreign workers entering the country. Singapore has one of the highest robot densities in the workplace, according to the 2021 World Robot Statistics report.
