South Sudan: Half of population food insecure as disease toll escalates

About half of South Sudan’s population are facing severe food shortages as its three-year civil war drags on.

And that means easily preventable diseases are becoming fatal in the country.

More than two million cases of malaria and 1,000 deaths from it - the biggest cause of death there - were recorded last year.

Al Jazeera’s Hiba Morgan reports from opposition-held Dindin in South Sudan.
