Spain fires Catalan regional government

The Spanish government has sacked Catalonia's president and dismissed its parliament hours after the region declared independence.
Facing his country's gravest political crisis in decades, Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy says Spain is living through a sad day.
He announced a snap election in Catalonia on December 21.
