Sri Lanka fights to prevent diseases from spreading amid flood crisis
Sri Lanka is appealing for volunteers to help with a massive recovery operation following its worst flooding in 14 years. At least 194 people have been killed in the disaster and hundreds of thousands of others have been left displaced.
The public are being asked to help clean drinking wells contaminated by the monsoon floods, as doctors work to prevent diseases like cholera from spreading.
