Thousands of tourists stranded as Bali volcano erupts

An erupting volcano in the Indonesian island of Bali, which is a popular tourist attraction, has forced thousands to evacuate areas under threat of what experts are calling a potential catastrophe.

The city's international airport has been closed for a second consecutive day, stranding many tourists, as the volcano spewed massive ash clouds.

Mount Agung last erupted in 1963, killing about 1,100 people.

Al Jazeera's Natasha Ghoneim reports.
