Trackstar The DJ: :60 With

Trackstar The DJ provides the massive beats for Run The Jewels, bolstering all those politically-charged rhymes with deep beats and turbo thrust. Gabe Moskoff was a standout long-distance runner at his Madison, Wisconsin high school – that’s where his stage name comes from. He kicked off his DJ career working the turntables at Washington University’s radio station and the St. Louis clubs surrounding the campus. Dude’s output is massive: he released more than 20 mixtapes from 2006 to 2009 – the year he met Killer Mike, who quickly made Gabe his DJ. In 2011, Mike and El-P hooked up and Run The Jewels was rolling with Trackstar as their sonic architect. He's toured the world with the duo and has kept the mixtapes coming – the total now exceeds 150, including collabs with Big Boi, Lupe Fiasco, and Royce da 5'9”. In our ‘:60 With’ he tells us about DJ Shadow, his fave board game, and a key Rick Rubin track.
