Turkey and Sudan agree to boost ties in Erdogan visit

For the first time in more than 60 years, a Turkish head of a state is visiting Sudan.

Turkey and Sudan have agreed to set up a strategic cooperation council and boost trade - after a visit by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Khartoum.

Turkey is aiming to increase its presence on the continent - with a focus on the Horn of Africa.
