UK: PM May under pressure to soften Brexit stance after election
British Prime Minister Theresa May is under pressure to soften her approach on Brexit following last Thursday's election that saw her rival Jeremy Corbyn win many more votes than expected.
Opposition politicians, and some within her own Conservatives Party, say she no longer has a mandate for a so-called ‘hard’ Brexit which would mean leaving the single market and customs union.
Talks with the EU about Britain's exit from the bloc are due to start next week.
