UN urges Mexico to tackle ‘alarming’ rise in disappearances

The United Nations Committee on Enforced Disappearances is urging immediate action from Mexico’s government to address soaring rates of citizen abductions with the knowledge - and sometimes the help - of state officials.
More than 96,000 people have been registered as “disappeared” or missing since November.
