DemeTech, a US manufacturer of medical-grade face masks, has found itself stuck with 30 million masks it can’t sell. The company was unable to compete with cheaper production lines in China. The US government has also refused to change guidelines that stop the public from wearing N95 masks, which it says should be reserved for medical and healthcare workers. Social-media firms have further complicated the issue by banning DemeTech from advertising its products on their digital platforms.
