More than 123,000 people have been evacuated from Afghanistan in the past two weeks amidst a Taliban takeover of most of the country and a suicide bombing attack that killed at least 175 people, including 13 US soldiers near the Kabul international airport.
Those left behind in the Afghan capital include many who worked as US allies and couldn't evacuate before the August 31 deadline.
The Biden administration says that the Taliban has made commitments of 'safe passage' for those who remain.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has also said that if working with the new Afghan government will serve the country's national interest, Washington will do so.

Al Jazeera’s Gabriel Elizondo reports from Washington, DC, the US.
