US: Major corporations begin hiring autistic workers

A new wave of workplace 'neurodiversity' is sweeping a number of the US' largest employers. They are hiring autistic applicants and recognising the unique skills and profile they bring to the workforce.

A recent study in the US has found that 58 percent of people with autism are unemployed and many more struggle to find satisfying work.
But a number of major corporations are embracing a new programme of "neurodiversity" to help integrate this marginalised group in the workforce.
In doing so, these corporations are finding that autistic workers bring valuable skills to the workplace.
